Exciting new topic : The Benefits of Probiotics in Skincare
Greetings everyone ! Today we’re discussing the use of probiotics in skincare products and are very excitied to announce a new product in the Gaia range using the very forefront in many a modern skincare formulation.
What are probiotics?
Probiotics are live healthy bacteria and yeast that are beneficial to health especially the digestive system.
It is often thought, and a general misconception, that bacteria is the cause of many diseases. Our bodies however are full of living bacteria both good and bad, healthy and unhealthy. Probiotics are often referred to as “good or “healthy bacteria”.
How Probiotics Work for the Skin
In the last few years, dermatologists have begun to recognize that probiotics contribute distinct advantages for the skin. It has already been proven that the gut is linked to the skin and even though probiotics that are taken internally have a positive effect on the skin.
Probiotics possess very real skin rejuvenating qualities and assist in the skins innate immunity when using lactobacillus acidophilus and the yeast saccharomyces (from our kombucha cultures), being the two main probiotics that have found their way into our new cream.
Lactobacillus has been found to reduce flushing by balancing the skins pH and bifodbacteria is said to strengthen the skins barrier and natural defenses.
